The artist is Chernyshev
In the twenties of the 15th century, the artel of the masters, led by Andrei Rublev and his senior contemporary Daniil Cherny, decorated the Trinity Cathedral in the monastery of the same name, founded by St. Sergius of Radonezh (now Trinity-Sergius Lavra) with icons and frescoes). The iconostasis also included the highly respected image of the “Trinity” of the Rublev brush. Apparently, the moment of the reverent contemplation of this particular icon was depicted by Chernyshev, who professionally studied the heritage of ancient Russian masters and deeply appreciated Rublev’s painting, whose genuine discovery took place in the twentieth century.
